BASKETBALL RULES MODIFICATIONS- BOYS AND GIRLS
11/20/90 TIME: Time is running except for the last two minutes of the 2nd and 4th quarters. If a team is winning by 20 or more points, let the clock run.

TIME: Time is running except for the last 2 minutes of EACH quarter. If a team is winning by 20 points or more, let the clock run.
EACH QUARTER WILL BE 10 MINUTES LONG.
1/10/91 Girls cannot play on both boys and girls teams. Player must decide before their first game of the season on what team she wants to play.
Boys cannot play on girls team. Girls can play on boys teams.
There are FIVE time-outs per game, which can be used at any time.
3/18/92 A supervising adult must be at the score table for all games.
No students will be allowed to run the clock. An adult must run the clock. A student cannot keep the scorebook unless supervised by an adult who knows how to.
Get extra students, parents and fans away from the score table so the scorer and timer are not distracted.
When the clock is not visible, the time will be called out, LOUDLY, at 5 minutes, 1 minutes, at 30 and 20 seconds, and a countdown from 15 seconds. This is recommended as a common courtesy.
The people working at the table will not vocalize their opinion during the game.
Half time is to be 10 minutes.
12/5/95 TIE BREAKER/OVERTIME: Tie breakers/Overtimes will be used. Each tie breaker will be 4 minutes, with one minute stop clock. Each team will be allowed one time out for each overtime. Unused time outs do not carry over. Only THREE overtimes will be played. If the score is still at this point, it remains a tie score.
SPORTSMANSHIP: ( See Attached Sheet for current sportsmanship rules)
1. Player: If a player is expelled from a game for unsportsmanlike like conduct, that player must sit out the next schedule league game.
3/25/96 GIRLS: Free throw line to be regulation 15’.
BOYS AND GIRLS: The three-point line and shot to be added to the game. This is to be in line with high school play.
12/1/99 Girls: Penalized for back court violation.
3/16/06 If a team is up by more than 20 or more points at any time during the game, that team (the leading team) cannot come pass the half court line on defense. No full court pressing if up by 20 pts.

Boys: If a team is up by 15 or more points at any time during the game, the team (leading team) cannot come pass the half court line on defense. No full court pressing if up by 15 points.
Girls: If a team is up by 10 points or more during the game, that team (leading team) cannot come pass the half court line on defense. No full court pressing if up by 10 points.
There must be an official scorebook at the scorer’s table for all games. There must be an adult running the clock. If there is not an adult running the clock, the home team will be fined $50.00 got for the first offense. (This violation should be reported immediately to league office by game official, visiting coach or home team coach or athletic director.)
